i work in internal communications. what this means in general terms is that i help people in an organisation make sense of the change that happens around them. in short, i deal in change for a living.
But when i think about, i don’t just deal in change, i live change. in the last 5 years how many times have you moved house? me – 5 times. jobs over the last decade? me – 13. for me, new equals exciting. i crave change. i love the excitement a new place brings, the adventures new people create. i look for opportunities to change as if paradise is just one change away.
but others are completely different. and they’re happy. they seem to like the sameness. for them, less change is more.
so... is change a cage or is the cage when we don’t change?
